November Ballot: Legal Recreational Weed

March 30, 2010

California here we come!

Come November 2010 there will be at least one ballot measure for allowing adults over 21 years of age.  Each adult will be able to have one ounce or 25 square feet of plants for personal use.  Not medical, pure recreational.  On top of this the ballot measure will be a huge tax generator for the state.  I’m not going to be one of those people who wants to use our economic downturn as a campaign excuse.  Quite frankly that distracts from my belief that peaceful behavior (i.e. smoking herb at home) is no one’s business.  Still it drives me crazy that there is no provision (yet) for legal hemp production.  As many of my posts show cannabis is not just for smoking.  It is a wonder plant that can replace paper, plastics, and many building materials, just to name a few.  In the meantime go to the shop, sport yourself a bong girl tee or hat, because 10% of proceeds goes to fighting for this ballot measures passing.  Peaceful living.
